The tarpon fishing was good a few days last week in the Florida Keys in the Back-country of Islamorada. We had a couple of nice calm days with warm conditions and the tarpon fishing was hot. There were lots of fish rolling around and laid up late in the afternoon.
I had Tim and Jeff two fly fisherman from the North East and the came down for an early season tarpon bite.
We just had a cold front move through so It’s going to be a couple of days before the back-country tarpon bite get back going, but it’s just a matter of time.
For those of you who are visiting Miami and want to do a early evening tarpon fishing trip, now is the time to do so. The tarpon are staging, and stacked up on the bridges of the Intercostal feeding on shrimp.
I still have some availability now in the spring, so don’t wait to long if you want to book a tarpon trip.
