Miami’s Biscayne Bay is a very special place in the summer time and I say this because it’s the best time of the year to have a chance at catching a grand slam.
For those of you who are not sure what a grand slam is, this is when you catch a tarpon, bonefish, and a permit in the same day. Yes we do catch grand slams in South Florida and if your not aware of this, Miami’s Biscayne Bay is on the top of the list to do so.
Miami in the summer time has some of the best permit fishery’s around, along with the bonefish and tarpon raging from 10-50 pounds in the summer months. We also have some of the largest permit in the world you will ever cast to and right now it’s prime time!
I have anglers who come from all over the country and other parts of the world who fish with me during the summer months in search for a slam. They put the time and effort and fish with me several days in order to accomplish there goal. Sometimes we get it done on the first day and other times we might not get the full slam, but we fished hard and had a blast trying to make it happen.
To be successful at a grand slam, you have to put the work in. Flats fishing and sight fishing is a team sport, the anglers and the guide have to work together in order to make it happened. I guarantee if you hook up to your first permit or bonefish, that you will be hooked for life and not want to fish for anything else. The power and speed these fish have are like nothing you will experience in a fresh water pond or lake. They don’t even compare to a redfish or a snook. They call them the big three for a reason.
If you want a shot at a grand slam, give me a call so we can go over some dates. I am booking trips everyday, so if you want primo dates call me today to reserve your spot on the action.
