I fished Mike Alcalde on a half day afternoon trip and he wanted to catch a big shark on light tackle. We needed to catch some decent size barracuda to use for chumming up the shark and to use as bait. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a Barracuda to commit, so we ended up bonefishing the last hour of our trip.
The water temperature all week has been in low 60’s and that is never a good thing for bonefish especially late in the afternoon with cold air temperatures. Within ten minutes I spotted a group of fish coming off a channel onto the flat and Mike makes a perfect cast and hooks his first bonefish ever. After several nice runs, we got the fish to the boat and it was a perfect specimen of a typical average size Biscayne Bay Bonefish.
Great job Mike I’m sure you’re hooked now, and next time I’ll get you on that big shark you’re looking for.
