Today was a guides day off fishing trip in Biscayne Bay. I invited good friend and fellow guide Mike H for a little fly fishing for permit and bonefish. Both of us have had little to almost no time on the bow all season but today was our day to play. Mike hooked and lost a bonefish this morning and also broke off a permit on the 10 pound shock. Pretty frustrating, but not shortly after he hooked and landed a nice permit on Fly.
I was up and the tide was slacking off and not to many fish moving around. The wind was almost non existing and we had a few other shots at permit, but they were acting very skittish. The wind finally picked up and the bonefish starting moving good. I landed a nice 6 pounder and we called it a day.
Not a bad day for two rusty fishing guides that had the opportunity to spend so time on the bow.
