It winter down here in beautiful South Florida and the fishing has been red hot from Biscayne Bay, and the Everglades Out of Flamingo Marina. So far we had a few minor fronts move through that we needed to get our winter pasterns in full swing. It’ has been so warm, that we were kind off stuck in fall with temperatures in the high 80’s and we hadn’t seen much of a transition from fall to winter.
Now it’s starting to cool off, but still very warm and the fishing especially in Everglades National Park has been some of the best I’ve seen in years.
The snook and red fishing had been off the charts. we are seeing lots of smaller redfish showing up on the flats, and theirs still plenty of larger fish mixed in. The snook fishing has been just as good, and we are catching them in the same areas we are seeing red fish. When I say I’m fishing the Everglades, I am fishing out of Flamingo Marina in Everglades National Park.
There are a few juvenile tarpon still around, but that’s going to slim down as the water temps cool off.
We cater fly and spin fisherman and we fish from Miami’s Biscayne Bay, Everglades, as well as the upper Florida Keys. We offer flats fishing as well as bay and nearshore reef fishing.
